Our Healthy Catchments Program has received a $2 million funding injection from the Queensland Department of Environment, Science and Innovation to keep up its work busting erosion. The funding means we can continue the many years of great work preventing erosion and improving water quality in SEQ.
Since it broke ground, the restoration journey along the Lower Caboolture River has made big strides with mangroves growing, riverbanks holding it together and work now in full swing at the largest site of the program which is 283 metres long!

Last month, Healthy Land & Water’s QFBC team partnered with our sister NRM group NQ Dry Tropics, to deliver property fire management planning workshops with landholders in the Upper Burdekin in North Queensland.
As part of one of our longstanding programs funded by Seqwater, we had the opportunity to trial a biostimulant to increase plant health and growth rates and more rapidly achieve our revegetation goals, especially in challenging areas. The team was impressed with the promising results, and it looks like this product will help boost our recipe for flood resilience and improved water quality.
