Trevor Evans - ChairpersonTrevor Evans commenced in the role of Chair of Healthy Land & Water on 1 July 2026.
Trevor is an accomplished executive leader with deep expertise in strategic engagement, economic policy, environment policy and the circular economy.
He was previously CEO of the National Retail Association and served as the Federal Member for Brisbane, and the Assistant Minister for Waste Reduction and Environmental Management.
During his time in government, Trevor became Australia’s first dedicated minister responsible for recycling, waste and sustainability.
Other previous roles include senior economist roles at the ACCC, the Queensland Competition Authority, and Seqwater.
Trevor has also served on a range of boards and advisory bodies and holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Queensland.
