The session will be a condensed version of the normal Fire Management Planning workshop with the same aim of providing a set of property maps, information & resources to help you start to develop a Fire Management Plan for your property, to protect your built assets & improvements, enhance native vegetation and biodiversity values and maintain good land condition on your property.
Topics will include:
- Introduction to property planning.
- Identifying key assets and mapping infrastructure & fire management zones.
- Understanding native vegetation communities & land types on your property.
- Recommended fire management regimes and practices for enhancing native vegetation, biodiversity & land condition.
Everyone will be supplied with a set of individual property maps with the latest available imagery, regulated vegetation layers, regional ecosystem mapping, land types and topography (contours). In addition, they will be supplied with the Qld Fire & Biodiversity Consortium’s Fire Management Planning Manual & Workbook along with a range of property specific information, including regional ecosystem descriptions, fire management guidelines, etc. Light dinner will be provided for the workshop (please advise of dietary requirements).
