Healthy Land and Water, in partnership with the Bribie Island Environment Protection Association (BIEPA) and the Sunshine Coast Environment Council (SCEC), is hosting a field trip to explore various project sites on Bribie Island. Activities include a Woorim Beach Foreshore Rehabilitation project walk, trips to the shellfish reef restoration, cultural fire and landscape management and shorebirds project sites and a visit to the Ningi Transfer Station (the OzFish shell recycling station).
Attendees will also enjoy a Traditional Owner Welcome to Country and cultural heritage talk.
This is an opportunity to learn about Pumicestone Shellfish Habitat Restoration, midden mapping, shorebirds and cultural landscape management from experts including Traditional Owners, an archaeologist, fire ecologist, botanist and shorebird experts.
This event is being delivered as part of the World Environment Day Festival, an annual program run by the SCEC.
Morning tea and lunch will be provided.
