Erosion and Sediment Control Training | Hervey Bay

Healthy Land & Water's Water by Design initiative invites industry and government stakeholders to Intermediate Erosion and Sediment Control Training in Hervey Bay.

Presented by Water by Design and TOPO Group, this FREE training is a comprehensive one-and-a-half day program tailored to local government planning and compliance officers, site supervisors, foremen, environmental advisors, engineers, and project managers involved in erosion and sediment control (ESC) design, implementation and regulation. This course is crafted to equip professionals with the essential skills and knowledge needed for effective ESC management.

The training will consist of an in-classroom component and a field half-day.

The first day will include presentations and discussions on:
• Best practice ESC measures for construction sites.
• Relevant legislation and requirements.
• Problem soils and management.
• Construction and maintenance requirements for drainage, erosion and sediment control measures.
• Sediment basin design and operation.
• Revegetation techniques.
• Water quality monitoring.
• Inspection and auditing requirements.

On the second day, participants will visit an active development site to observe and assess ESC practices.

Day 1 - Tuesday 20 August | 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Day 2 - Wednesday 21 August | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Catering will be provided on Day 1.

Personal protective equipment
Please ensure you bring the following items and PPE for the site visit on Day 2:
• Hard hat.
• Hi-vis vest.
• Long-sleeve shirt and pants.
• Steel-cap boots.
• Construction White Card.
• Drink bottle.
• Snacks/morning tea.
