Weed management and maintaining healthy pastures will be the focus of a workshop in Tamrookum this month.
During the workshop on Thursday, 27 October 2022, attendees will learn how to manage and prevent the spread of invasive weeds, particularly Giant rats tail grass, Giant parramatta grass and Fireweed on their properties.
Attendees will also learn about grazing and land management practices which improve pasture health and diversity to maintain sustainable production and build resilience.
This workshop will be run by Healthy Land & Water pasture and weed specialists Bruce Lord and Dennis Gannaway, who will discuss the importance of maintaining effective Biosecurity plans and on-farm measures to prevent weed spread and new pest infestations, which threaten production and the environment.
It is important to note that landholders must register their workshop attendance by Friday, 21 October 2022 to Rob Chataway at robert.c@hlw.org.au.
Morning tea and lunch options will be provided for this workshop, which is supported through funding from the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program.
