NQ Dry Tropics and Healthy Land & Water team up on fire
Last month, Healthy Land & Water’s QFBC team partnered with our sister NRM group NQ Dry Tropics, to deliver property fire management planning workshops with landholders in the Upper Burdekin in North Queensland.
The workshops promoted a holistic approach to land management and protecting threatened ecosystems, whilst maintaining grazing practices.
Local landholders enjoyed and exploring the benefits of cool, mosaic burning via a series of property walkthroughs.
Planned cool mosaic burning improves grassy woodland system health, whilst promoting biodiversity outcomes.
Partnership on fire
While up in North Queensland, our QFBC team worked closely with the NQ Dry Tropics team to deliver property fire management planning workshops tailored to landscapes in the Upper Burdekin.
The workshops promote a holistic approach to land management and protecting threatened ecosystems like softwood scrub and riparian corridors, whilst maintaining grazing practices.
