Farmsafe Australia launched the ‘In Safe Hands’ Campaign alongside the release of 2024 Safer Farms Report
Farming can be mentally and emotionally demanding, making safe choices harder. Farmsafe’s In Safe Hands campaign reminds farmers and workers to seek support and prioritise mental well-being to maintain safe practices.
It was National Farm Safety Week earlier this month, which Farmsafe Australia kicked off launching its 'In Safe Hands' campaign.
The campaign highlighted safety in agriculture as a personal commitment to protecting farmers, families, and workers with a holistic approach that includes mental well-being as well. The campaign shared stories from six farming businesses across the country, demonstrating practical ways to integrate safety into daily routines.
At the heart of the campaign is ensuring everyone returns home safely to their families each night. The campaign reminded farmers that adopting simple safety habits, and making consistent, safer choices becomes habit over time.
The campaign launch also coincided with the 2024 Safer Farms Report, sponsored by WFI Insurance. Despite a 44% decrease in on-farm fatalities in 2023, 30 farmers have already lost their lives in the first half of 2024.
Farmsafe Australia encourages farm businesses to take personal responsibility for safety and celebrate actions that create a safer farm environment.
