20 years and counting for Healthy Land & Water's CEO
As our September newsletter edition was about to be sent out, we had a surprise visit from some of our Board Members as well as former colleagues of our CEO, Julie McLellan, who dropped in to celebrate our CEO’s 20th anniversary… during the speeches, some of our staff did the maths and realised between all the predecessor groups, it is actually more like 25+!
It was great for our team to hear some short impromptu stories from colleagues of our CEO Julie McLellan across decades, including Healthy Land & Water Chair Stephen Robertson, longtime colleague and current CEO of River Foundation Eva Abal and a colleague from Julie’s early days Barry Ball from Advanced Water Management Centre.
On behalf of the team at Healthy Land & Water, we want to give Julie a big shoutout for advocating for the environment in South East Queensland and beyond. She’s been an absolute driving force for this key stakeholder which doesn’t have its own voice.
She’s been doing it by cleverly connecting synergistic collaborations, rallying for critical investment, raising awareness amongst politicians and corporates about the importance of a healthy environment and the need to take action, and of course her best-known work in deploying project teams directly addressing a myriad of issues to build the health and resilience of our beautiful and biodiverse region.
