Our free workshop series is here
Our free workshop series is coming soon - Regeneration and Resilience: Crafting your Kedron Brook Backyard Restoration Plan.
Register now and save the dates!
Our team is excited to announce an upcoming opportunity tailored just for you!
Mark your calendars for two free workshops on Saturday, 19 October, and Saturday, 16 November 2024. These events will be run for half a day, starting early in the morning to beat the heat and finishing around 1:30 pm. The workshops are designed to equip Kedron Brook residents with the knowledge and tools needed to regenerate their backyard while making it more resilient to weather events and improving its ecological values.
Join us to explore, through a restoration lens, the typical opportunities and challenges of living on a creek, deepen your understanding of the local ecosystem, and start crafting a practical plan for maintaining your land.
Plus, you'll have the chance to apply this knowledge directly by using a big map of your backyard to create your own personalised restoration plan! If this is not enough, you will also receive some specialised tools and equipment to kickstart your restoration journey.
While each workshop stands alone, we encourage you to attend both to get the most out of this valuable series.
Whether you're new to the area or a long-time resident, the workshops will offer you insights into the unique aspects of the Brook local environment and provide practical restoration tools to help you manage your property effectively. It's a chance to connect with experts, learn from your neighbours, and start creating a personalised plan for your property that aligns with your regeneration and resilience goals.

Spaces are limited, and you won’t want to miss this! Both workshops will be held on private properties in the Kedron Brook area. Location details will be shared closer to the dates.
We look forward to seeing you there and working together to make Kedron Brook an even better place to live.

What has been done so far in Stage 2* - quick update
We would like to take this opportunity to give you a quick update on Stage 2* of the project.
Bligh Tanner technical experts in environmental and water engineering, are finalising technical field assessments, surveys and modelling. Interesting fact, they recently cycled the full reach from Nundah to the upper catchment to assess the flood dynamics along all of Kedron Brook! Did you spot them?
Once field testing is completed, our team will be communicating the details of the high-priority sections for progressing rehabilitation works. Also, planning is underway for the ecology surveys, waiting for the active season for your local critters.
We are working on creating some useful and fun supporting resources for you to utilise on the journey of recovery and restoration of your property, so keep watching this space and our website https://www.hlw.org.au/kedron-brook.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in the Kedron Brook Riverine Recovery project. We appreciate you!
Kind regards from the Healthy Land & Water project team.
– Hannah, Alberta & Samille
