Share your experience with South East Queensland's waterways and win $100

18 May 2018

South East Queenslanders are being urged to complete a regional survey and help Healthy Land and Water build an understanding of how communities use and value their waterways.

The short 10-minute survey is being run by QUT and the responses will inform the 2018 Healthy Land and Water Report Card, an annual assessment of the condition and benefits of South East Queensland’s creeks, rivers, beaches and bays.

South East Queenslanders who fill out the survey will automatically go into the draw to win one of ten $100 Coles Myer Gift Card.

Healthy Land and Water Senior Principal Scientist Dr Paul Maxwell said the survey was designed to build a snapshot of how people feel and how they interact with their local waterways.

“A significant part of our annual Report Card focuses on the benefits waterways provide to local residents, so this survey is a great tool to determine what local waterways mean to different people in different areas of South East Queensland,” he said.

“To ensure we get a comprehensive understanding, we want to hear from people of all walks of life, not just those who are environmentally-minded.

The annual Healthy Land and Water Report Card has been measuring the condition of South East Queensland’s waterways for almost 20 years.

The report card provides an annual assessment of the pressures facing our waterways, their current environmental condition (A-F grade), and the level of social and economic benefit the waterways provide to local communities (1-5 star rating).

For a chance to win one of the $100 Coles Myer Gift Cards, respondents must submit their survey by 12pm on Friday 1 June 2018.

Winners will be drawn on June 1.
