ESC training day at the Cleveland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) training facility
On one of the wettest winter days in Queensland, 90 attendees took part in a demonstration of best practice Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) methods at the Cleveland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) training facility.
Our team set up a sub-surface retention basin to capture the sediment-laden water that runs off the demonstration site. With a little help from the weather, we were able to demonstrate under actual rainfall conditions, that properly installed ESC measures reduce sediment movement.

ESC product suppliers also shared their knowledge of tools and technology to support our demonstration. The demonstration justified the effectiveness of best-practice ESC methods and proved that the products work under realistic heavy rainfall conditions.
Through educating on correct ESC techniques and use of ESC products, we were able to share best practice site rehabilitation and restoration requirements; and the importance of complying with relevant legislation such as the Queensland Environment Protection Act.
Construction personnel, local and state government officers, environmental advisors, civil engineers, and farmers who participated in the demonstration thanked our team for sharing vital information on best practice Erosion and Sediment Control.
