Finalist: Volunteer of the Year Award
Jessie Oliver is a Brisbane-based Citizen Science Researcher, passionate about showcasing how nature-based activities can contribute to vital scientific research. Since her participation in the South-East Queensland Citizen Science Meeting of the Minds workshop in 2014 and development into the role of Lead Advisor in Citizen Science, Jessie’s ongoing research and determination to communicate its benefits has seen her invited to present at community groups and events. These include The University of Queensland Centre for Biodiversity and Conservation Science and Brisbane City Council’s Brisbane Biodiversity Seminar.
Since 2015, Jessie’s passion has resulted in her active participation in voluntary consultations at the Office of the Queensland Chief Scientist as well as presenting at Brisbane’s Acoustics and Climate Change workshop.
