Roadvale State School

Roadvale Salinity Project

Roadvale State School is a small rural school of 32 students, 40 kilometres west of Ipswich. They have introduced a program to re-establish endangered Brigalow forest in the area, along with wildlife habitats. In the process, the school is addressing the significant local challenge of rising salinity in soils by establishing salt-resistant trees and lowering the water table, providing a model for landholders in the area, many of which are now regenerating their own properties.
