Finalist: Sustainable Water Management Award
Redland City Council & Habitat Protection Partners
The purpose of the overarching Habitat Protection (HP) Program in 2016 was to partner with, build healthy relationships, educate, and support private land owners using environmental best practice property management. In partnership with private property owners, we planted 11,256 plants, conducted many erosion and weed control projects, removed barbed wire from land and waterways, and created habitat both on land and within our waterways/waterbodies.
The Program facilitated the delivery of environmentally focused educational events, training sessions, workshops, and talks during 2016.
