The Aquatic Habitat Conservation & Management (AHCM) project across Moreton Bay was designed to go beyond best practice and has exceeded erosion and sediment control standards. The program incorporated an extensive monitoring driver targeted to further manage sediment releases, ultimately impacting the local waterways and many protected marine parks.
The AHCM program was conducted across 45 monitoring points throughout the Moreton Bay Rail Project and, encompassed a Ramsar wetland, Hays Inlet Marine Park, Fish Habitat Area and many more. The program also identified key areas to focus conservation, restoration and habitat enhancement efforts. This project was funded by the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
