Rathdowney Water Treatment Plant Upgrade
Rathdowney

Seqwater’s Rathdowney Water Treatment Plant (WTP) upgrade facilitates a sustainable approach to long-term water security and waste management.

In 2015, the upgrade delivered on-site emergency water storage capacity, improved drinking water treatment capability, and the removal of wastewater discharges to the Logan River, bringing benefits to the community and contributing to improvements in waterway health.

The upgrade has increased long-term resilience of the Rathdowney WTP in flood and drought situations, ensuring a secure water supply to the community. The plant continues to help improve the health of the Logan River system by reducing the environmental footprint of the plant through efficiency and the removal of wastewater discharges.
