Queensland University of Technology
In 2015, Queensland University of Technology in partnership with Healthy Waterways, conducted a social survey to understand the community's views, behaviours and attitudes towards waterways across 19 catchments in South East Queensland.
This was the first time such a social study has been conducted. Results from this research provided insight into community perspectives, uses and behaviours around waterways and helped to inform future resourcing and decisions relating to investing in local waterways to improve access, useability and satisfaction.
Importantly, this research contributed to the social component of the 2015 Healthy Waterways Report Card and established a benchmark for future reporting of the social environment of waterways in the region.
