Brisbane River

Jesper Nielsen embarked on a PhD with the hope of reverting the Brisbane River estuary back to a crystal clear blue. In a world-first, Jesper designed and fabricated the 'Turbulence Tower' to collect important field data from the deep, fast-flowing and tidal estuary.

This data provides a better understanding of sediment dynamics and turbulence in rivers from the river bed up to the surface of the river, and will be critical in helping to restore Brisbane River back to its former glory.
