Brisbane City Council (A)

Community Conservation Partnerships Program

In 2015, Brisbane City Council's Community Conservation Partnerships Program empowered over 5,000 volunteers to dedicate 248,000 hours of on-ground works to improve local waterways, wetlands, and bushland health in the region.

The program involved weed removal, revegetation, bank stabilisation, rubbish removal and broader community education of natural environment impacts and avenues for community participation.

Brisbane City Council also provided $500,000 shared across 62 projects to support substantial rehabilitation works in areas with high waterway and biodiversity values.
