Tallebudgera Beach School

Environmental Education to enhance Healthy Waterways

Tallebudgera Beach School is an education facility located in one of the most sought after pristine waterway locations in the country. It works in conjunction with Healthy Waterways to provide educational programs for over 8000 students and 450 teachers each year.  The school incorporates environmental messages into a fun, enjoyable and challenging program to proactively engage the future custodians of our waterways.

The Environmental Education to enhance Healthy Waterways Project involved the creation of a student diary which communicates a message of environmental sustainability. In addition, a curriculum was designed to investigate the impact that individuals have on the aquatic environment, including wildlife and a 'Bonus Board Rewards Program' based on sustainable practices. The school is also involved in active, ongoing partnerships with local community groups for the Beach Care and Keep Australia Beautiful programs.
